ASK presents a historical-cultural representation of Alamannic culture based on archaeological finds and historical research. We want to accurately depict the Germanic tribes - in particular the Alamanni - and thereby make it possible to experience the way of life of this unknown people today.

Since in 2003 we have grown to a number of over 40 active members and thus represent the largest Alamannic group in Germany.
It is the aim of our work to portray a colourful and state-of-the-art picture of the Alamanni to the general public. There is no room in this for political and world-view ideologies; our concerns are to overcome false preconceptions of the Germanic tribes and instead present realistic and diverse representation of a bygone culture. Therefore every member of ASK embodies a certain fictitious “life picture” of his own choosing and aligns his reconstructed gear with the impersonated role and the chosen historical background.
Our “time line” concept is based on the intention to showcase not only a tiny window of Alamannic history, but to represent the cultural development from the 2nd to 7th century AD. Each of our members depicts a precisely reconstructed moment in the development of material culture; thus, in its entirety, we can contrast changes and foreign influences memorably with each other.
